Easy Curb Appeal Ideas For Spring
The aesthetic look of your home’s exterior tells folks what to expect on the other side of your front door. It is your home’s first impression so to speak. Improving your home’s curb appeal can add value. With that in mind, I wanted to share some easy ideas for Spring curb appeal.
A great place to begin is your lawn. If you have dead areas or dirt patches it can make your property feel old and neglected. In most cases, the fix can be as easy as planting seed and watering the lawn for a few weeks before the summer heat kicks in. Also take a look at the plantings that are the closest to your home. Trim or remove overgrown or dying bushes, add a few colorful seasonal plants for interest, and mulch, mulch, mulch! A fresh layer of mulch can completely transform your home’s exterior.
Next, take a good look at the exterior. Power washing your siding/brick, gutters, and walk/driveways will not take long, and will have a big impact. Does the trim need a touch up?
Access your roof. If it needs repair, make it a point to get that accomplished. Saving and planning for a roof replacement may be in order too.
Adding a fresh coat of paint to your front door, or even a new door is an improvement that offers an impressive return on your investment. Other ideas include: Adding landscape and exterior lighting to make your home glow in the evenings, a mailbox upgrade, and stowing all equipment in its place and out of sight!
