2021 Holiday Shopping Tips & Tricks

This year more than ever, our advice is PLAN AHEAD, and SHOP EARLY. Hopefully you have got your list together and begun your shopping. Here are some tips to make your holiday shopping a success, with little stress.

Shopping & Shipping | This year would be the year to support our local small businesses. If you are planning to mail your gift packages, be sure to check out the United States Postage Service’s new service standards that include the first-class mail delivery time-frames and post office hours.

Dollar Smarts | To save money, scout for free shipping offers, curbside pick-up options, coupon codes, and comparison shopping. Many national retailers have rolled out highly competitive holiday sales including Amazon, Walmart, and Target. Look for restaurants and retailers that offer bonus cards when you buy a gift card. Use your rewards credit card to make your purchases so you can redeem for travel and gifts later. Be sure to pay your balance in full to avoid interest charges. Some great offers that we have unearthed are below:

  • Amazon Gift Cards First-time gift card shoppers will receive a $10 promotional credit with the purchase of $50 or more in Amazon Gift Cards, while supplies last through December 18.
  • Groupon offers discounted vouchers for massages, restaurants, hair styling, rock climbing, classes, car washes, movies, paintball, and more!
  • Target offers holiday price matching through December 24.
  • Kohl’s is offering $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 you spend. Plus, if you were a Kohl’s Rewards member, they have offered high value percent off coupons to stack with the Kohl’s Cash promotions.
  • The Honey app allows you to see the price of an item at various stores so you can find the best price at any given time.
  • Search online gift guides for inspiration!

With a little creativity and flexibility, you can ensure a ‘ho-ho-happy’ holiday gift giving season. Happy Holidays!
